The Manchester Metro Link extensions works required the severance of Oldham loop from the rest of the UK National rail network at Thorpesbridge Junction and Rochdale.
A portion of the existing ‘Down’ Oldham and the existing junction with the ‘Up’ Rochdale lines were to be retained and renamed as the ‘Dean Goods’.
A connection was to maintained from the existing head shunt on the Dean Goods to Metrolink Infrastructure.
OSL was commissioned to provide the following services:
- Project Management services
- Full Signalling Design, Installation, Test and Commissioning
- Project Close out and Hand-back liaison with Network Rail.
