OSL’s Mathew Conway and Martin Evans joined Crewe Engineering and Design UTC students, staff, governors and employer partners for an interactive workshop centred on team building.

The idea behind the day was to start the school term off with some fun, challenging activities and for representatives from OSL, Bentley, Network Rail and Manchester Metropolitan University (to name just a few) to be able to offer their expertise and guidance.

The experience was a series of STEM projects, which saw the transformation of unsure, mixed teams grow into budding engineers that, by the end of the day, were producing self-supporting bridges, self-propelled cars and straw towers. Most importantly –  staff and students alike were actively seeking out engineering inspiration, challenging conventions and working together.

Well done to all involved!
